Your Self Image Decides the Life You Will Live
Positive thinking means nothing if you see yourself as a loser.
Whatever is now difficult for you can be transmuted from hard to easy with specific trainings, the motivation to change, and practice.
When we understand what our self-image is and how it affects the very essence of our being, we realize that we can have everything we’ve ever wanted.
Easier said than done, I know.
I’m currently reading/listening to the book Psycho Cybernetics. It’s part of my homework assignment for a career coaching program I’ve recently enrolled in.
As I started to listen to the book, I realized I have been falling victim to myself.
That my self image is what’s holding me back from achieving all the great things I wish to know in this lifetime.
That I spent so many years dimming my light and intensity out of fear of offending others, that now I am unsure of how to insert my essence into society.
I don’t allow myself to breathe, nor my mind to wander, nor my heart to soar in ease over the joy of life.
My self image has me bogged down as a girl with a grieving heart, confused about navigating life.
After a recent trauma, I have failed to seek therapy.
I keep self-sabotaging.
I’m at war with myself.
It’s because my self image, though relatively unconscious is…
plasterred with self-doubt
drowning in incompetence and imposter syndrome
and laced with money lack.
Do I blame the world? Do I continue to torture myself? Do I get help for my grieving mind?
It seems easy on paper.
It always seems easier to help and guide others.
To say, “If I was in your shoes, I’d do this. I’d fix it I’d get help,” and so on.
But when you’re fighting against your own mind, it isn’t so easy.
Psych Cybernetics has opened my mind to a novel self-improvement method I’ve never heard of.
It’s more than personal development and self-improvement.
It’s more than the basic stuff like sleeping well, eating right, exercising more, and so on.
It’s about accepting an asset about yourself as FACT that aligns with your future and best self.
That the only way to access and tap into your dream life and highest self is to train your subconscious mind to adopt a new self-image.
Self image is the foundation for your entire personality and behavior.
Our self image has been built up from our perception of ourselves, how the world reacts to us, and our trials and tribulations.
We find that our experiences match our self image. This reinforces and proves it. Then we rarely agree it is because of our self image that is the root cause for our circumstances.
But, it is!
The person who thinks he is a failure will continue to fail, no matter what he does, and so on.
As I continue to read this book, I will share my musings with you. But maybe, over this weekend, you can begin to ponder just what it is that’s holding you back from your dream life.
